Hey there folks?
Howzit all going? Hope all is well! Feels like it's been a while!
It's been pretty busy since the last update! I left Melbourne shortly after the Melbourne cup! What an interesting day that was, I have never seen so many wasted people in one place! It was like a huge wedding reception with the occasional horse going past! Surreal :))
Then I got myself to Christchurch where I was planning on looking for some work. Unfortunately Christchurch looks just like England and has the same $#@!*~! weather. I couldn't bring myself to stay there and work. So I pretended to look for a couple of days and then I followed everyone else's advice and got myself down to Queenstown, which I was told is prettier, more fun and had loads of work.
They were right, the drive was amazing. It finally revealed some of the famous New Zealand beauty! Can't wait to see more! I got to Queenstown last Wednesday and have been running around like a chip monk on redbull and acid ever since, trying to find accommodation and work! All worth it though! Got myself a job today in an Internet cafe and I'm also signed up for some temp work in hotels cleaning rooms. Also, found a flat that I am now sharing with a Kiwi pilot, Mark and a Canadian/Scottish wine maker, Chris!!! Could be worse, ey! :)
Gonna be weird to be in the same place for a few months but it's all about cash flow!! And Queenstown is very beautiful, definitely feels like a Skiing resort type town. I also went for a job as a driver/groomer for a car rental company. It was hilarious. I did a morning trial (5 hours) driving automatic cars from town to the garage, cleaning them and then taking them to the airport! The only automatic car I have ever driven was from LA to Vegas on holiday years ago! And that was cruisin' on a clear wide empty highway, but most importantly I have not driven in the last 3 years! It made for some interesting parking techniques! Didn't do too bad, I thought, considering... :)) I'll be applying for my HGV licence (poid lourd) next! ;)
I also got a new NZ sim card for my phone so I'm not on my normal mobile number at the moment. The new number for those who are texting is: +64 210393468.
Apart from that I'm still trying to get used to the kiwi accent, ey! Not many adventures recently really, apart from perfecting my non-existent pool skills every night with 2 Swedish guys in Christchurch till the wee hours of the morning. Yes, Christchurch IS that boring! :)
And so far Queenstown has been a blur of applications and notice boards for flat share! Seems like I am gonna have a Kiwi Christmas! Hope the weather changes soon cos it's bloody freezing. I'm in denial though and I still refuse to buy a proper jacket!
Will do a long whinging email about how I hate my job and how tired I am and how life sucks next week! hehe ;)))
