How's tricks! Hope it's all good and not too cold back in Europe! :(
Here things are definitely on the move again! My flatmates have found a male English replacement (;), my last shift is on Friday night and I have a wallet full of bus and plane tickets to get myself to Mexico! It's weird to be leaving New Zealand (I'm hoping I will come back to this beautiful and friendly country) but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to Central America! My enthusiasm has been growing at each new page of the Lonely Planet guide and with every conversation I've had with Jimsy. Thank god you're picking me up at the airport, Jim! It's gonna be a slight shock to the system to go from Queenstown to Mexico city!
As it happens the last few days have been quite eventful! I celebrated my birthday last week! The number is getting frightening so don't be surprised if I start lying about my age! ;) Anyway, I still look 12 in my snowboarding gear, leaving a huuuuuge gap for me to lie with! Hehe! I kinda organised a small party. It started with sangria and finished with a late boogie! No change there, then! ;) A lot of you people back home were greatly missed! I had a rhum and a boogie to Trixta, Bry and Lozzy Loz, a special cheesy boogie to Jimsy and gallons of sangria, it seems, for every other person I missed :)
Due to my old age, I now wear dull irritating fabrics, forget people's names, am obnoxious to anyone under 25, jump queues in shops ignoring the dirty looks but smirking on the inside, I'm booked for botox injections (nothing to do with my butt, this!), the pension forms are on their way and obviously any extreme sport now is now out of the question! :) Look out for a 5 foot 2 wobbling zimoframe (spelling?) with a tan at Heathrow on the 20th May! :)) hehe As if! :)
Apart from being hit by the unforgiving passing of time, I've been spoilt with a flight to Milford Sound, courtesy of Fab, my flatmate. I also went on a cruise along the sound when we got there. The views from the plane were absolutely amazing, big mountain ranges, turquoise and green looking lakes/rivers and fiordlands. I'm glad I got to see it before leaving! The plan from now on is to go to Wanaka on Saturday and catch a movie at the famous Cinema Paradiso, then it's to Fox Glacier on Sunday for a day or two, then to Nelson to catch a flight to Auckland. From there I catch a succession of flights from Friday 14th to Sydney, Honolulu, Dallas and finally Mexico! It's gonna be airport central for a few days!
Still, it's the last stint of this amazing trip! I can't believe it has already been over 8 months. Hopefully, It's going to be three and half months filled with Spanish speaking, Mayan ruins excursions, more diving and beach life in Belize and Honduras, and a lot of local food, drink, transport and encounters and whatever el...:)
